Interviewed after the match, the 32-year-old central defender praised his squad’s character and resilience. While acknowledging that not everything was perfect in their play, the Brazilian preferred to focus on the collective strength demonstrated in adversity. According to him, this ability not to give up against the ‘Dogues’ (Lille’s nickname) shows a promising mindset for the rest of the season, especially as the contribution of the substitutes was decisive in bringing energy towards the end of the game. “It’s never over against PSG,” Marquinhos warned, to underscore his team’s fighting spirit.
